IV CINE-CMSC Workshop: Machine Learning Techniques Applied to Computational Material Science with Hands-on.

The IV CINE-CMSC Workshop aims to discuss applications of machine learning techniques in the computational material science field through seminars, poster presentations, and two options of short courses with practical applications for beginners and intermediate Python users.

Seminars from experimental experts in new energies will also be provided for a more broad view of the field. Prizes for the best posters and talks will be distributed at the end of the event.

Workshop Activities:

February 10, 2019 Talks focused on presenting the CMSC division and the experimental research developed by the other divisions of the CINE “Centre for Inovation on New Energies” project.

February 11, 2019 Talks and poster presentations from CINE members focused on disseminating the progress of their research projects.

February 12, 13, 14 The final three days will be composed of seminars and practical sections designed to discuss machine learning techniques applied to computational material science. Two Hands-On sections will be performed:

Introduction to Data Analysis in PythonDesigned to be an initial contact with Python and concepts of data analysis useful for computational materials science.

 

Machine Learning ApplicationsDesigned to introduce intermediate Python users to application of machine learning techniques.

We will provide certificates to attendees and for authors presenting talks and posters.
